This is a non-partisan community based movement.
This is a counter movement to the campaign of Ed Griffin who is running for school board for Little Elm ISD.
We opposed Ed's insistence that are school campuses cannot be safe unless volunteer educators are armed with guns.
We believe that there are numerous other strategies that can be implemented for safety.
We believe in the confidence of all our local police departments and their one minute response times to our campuses.
We believe that arming educators brings in more issues for liability and liability insurance. We believe that any liability that does occur would bring negative attention to our community.
We believe that cost / benefit ratio is way too high. It will be too expensive to implement and properly regulate.
We believe in our teachers, and we believe they are nurturers. But we do not expect them to act like trained police officers. We do not believe that teachers should be asked to undergo medical and psychological scrutiny beyond there capacity as educators.
We believe that active shooter scenarios would create targets for our teachers, and hamper police efforts to find the actual suspect.
We believe this opens up teachers for unnecessary public scrutiny, liabilities, and potential threats to their career.
We believe in more viable alternatives for keeping our children and educators safe.
